Composition
se (perception) + no (negation/absence) + to (conceptual pattern)
Definition
The state of perceiving an affective or emotional signal that has not resolved into a conceptual model. Not ignorance about external facts — the specific phenomenon of receiving internal signal that cannot be named, located, or categorized. Compositionally unambiguous via two converging parse paths: [se-no]+[to] (no-signal-thought) and [se]+[no-to] (perception-
of-no-model) both yield the same meaning.
This covers a cluster of psychological phenomena: alexithymia, depressive anhedonia, SSRI emotional flattening, trauma-related affect disruption.
Shortform for the full construction la-mi se, no-to-mi.
Contrast: se-no (signal-absence = emotional numbness, total-absence case) vs se-no-to (signal received but not resolved — the more common case).
Notes
Related construction: la-mi to [la-zo-mi se lo-X] — observer mode; agent analytically models that organism is feeling X. Falls out of the zo/li ontological split without requiring new grammar. See semantic-map.md § Domain 7 for the full emotional process model and canonized construction table. fa (primitive 33) is the affective substrate root; fa-no-to is the fa-based form of unresolved affect alongside this se-based form.
