| First use | S142 (fa-CON-C1, March 2026): la-mi fa-ki. no fa-be; no fa-de. |
Composition
fa (affective substrate) + ki (motion/becoming/change)
Definition
The affective substrate changes character or register — not a change in level (up or down) but a qualitative shift: from diffuse to focused, from anxiety to dread, from grief to numbness. fa-ki names the change event itself; what the substrate shifted from and to is left underspecified unless context adds it. Distinct from fa-be (level rising) and fa-de (level falling): those are quantitative changes; fa-ki is qualitative.
Notes
The diagnostic sentence pattern "not fa-be; not fa-de" isolates fa-ki as the correct construction when affect changed without escalating or diminishing.
