Distinction from pa-ki (W087/W156): pa-ki (W087) = adrift, uncontrolled spatial motion. pa-ki-su (W198) adds su (structure) — liberty is not adriftness; it is the organized, structured condition that permits free movement. The su head converts the raw motion concept into a systemic property: liberty as a stable structural feature of society.

Political reading: The Declaration treats Liberty not as a momentary absence of constraint but as an entitlement — a structural property of persons' situation. pa-ki-su captures exactly this: the structured state of being able to move/act freely.

W199 — su-to — self-evident proposition

Construction: su (structure/order) + to (pattern/thought/knowledge) — head-final: to (knowledge) is head; su specifies the grounding mode. "A proposition whose ground is its own structure" = knowledge that requires no external derivation because it is structurally self-grounding.

Why not ro-to: ro- is the instrument marker particle in the grammar (grammar.md: ro = instrument marker; marks the tool or cause). It is not a primitive root and cannot form compound words. su-to is the correct construction.

Parallel with go-ne (W159): Both are self-referential formations in their respective domains. go-ne = self-originating relation (the divine "I AM WHO I AM" — cause whose ground is itself). su-to = self-structured knowledge (a truth whose ground is its own structure). The pattern of forms whose justification is internal to themselves is a recurring Tonesu design space.

The equality claim is specifically relational: it is not that all persons are identical, but that all stand in structurally equivalent relational positions to each other and to the source. Contrast with su-ne-ru (planned) — su-ne alone suffices: relational-structure = equal standing.

Notes: be = institute/increase. ka-be = deliberately-established, freshly-instituted = new. go to = grounded in / derived from to (primitive: thought/reason/conceptual principle). The Declaration's "principles" are conceptual patterns — rational grounds for governance — without further qualification. Using to-ne-su (W000, organized truth = the language itself) would over-determine: the Declaration's Enlightenment appeal is to reason broadly, not to structured-relational knowledge as an ontological object. to alone preserves the rhetorical vagueness honestly. The translation discipline here: Tonesu's internal consistency creates a pull toward collapsing fuzzy philosophy into specific ontology objects. That pull should be resisted when the source is genuinely under-specified.

Key design findings:

  1. The extremal suffix [X]-no-fe handles "unalienable": vo-ne-no-fe is the natural, productive, zero-new-vocabulary encoding of unalienable rights. THO-001 established this pattern for divine attributes; it generalizes perfectly to political rights. Both are structural properties that have no external limiting boundary.

  2. fa-vo / fa-de complete the affect-value axis: fa-vo (happiness, W197) pairs with fa-de (W094, distress) as the positive/negative poles of the affective-value space. The Declaration's "pursuit of Happiness" motivated the first attestation that completes this axis.

  3. pa-ki-su solves the liberty / adriftness distinction: pa-ki (adrift, W087/W156) and pa-ki-su (liberty-state, W198) differ by the su head — liberty is not chaos but organized freedom. The su does normative work: liberty is a structured systemic condition, not merely absence of constraint.

  4. su-to generalizes the self-grounding family: go-ne (W159, self-originating cause), su-to (W199, self-structuring truth), and to-ne-su (W000, organized truth) form a family of propositions whose justification is internal. S638 exploits this family relationship explicitly.

  6. S636 translation discipline — resist ontological collapse (S636): to-ne-su (W000) was the initial translation of "principles" but is incorrect. The Declaration's "principles" are to (conceptual patterns / reason broadly) — not the structured-relational-organized-truth ontology. Tonesu's internal consistency creates a gravity well that pulls vague philosophical rhetoric toward specific ontology objects. That pull has to be actively resisted when the source is genuinely under-specified. go to = grounded in reason. go to-ne-su = grounded in the structured knowledge system.
